INFECTION CONTROL:

In an effort to minimize the risk of possible infection, Nor-Lea Hospital District requires its staff to undergo the administration of certain vaccines (Flu Vaccine) and the use of preventative equipment.

All staff  are required to provide proof of immunity to: Varicella; Measles, Mumps, Rubella; and Hepatitis B

Hand hygiene is a must, not a suggestion. You must use soap and water or alcohol based hand gel before you touch a patient, after you touch a patient, in between patients, and before putting gloves on and after taking gloves off. Gloves do not take the place of hand hygiene. You must use soap and water when your hands are visibly soiled or when taking care of patient that is suspected or confirmed to have C.Difficile.

For more information regarding Risk Management and Infection Control, please contact Kim Brown at (575) 396-6611 ext. 1275.

Fire Safety:

When it comes to fire safety, remember the acronym RACE

R - Rescue

There are designated meeting places in our parking lots should a large scale fire occur. If the fire seems containable and you would like to assist, there are fire extinguishers located throughout the campus. When using a fire extinguisher remember the acronym PASS

S - Sweep
