Information for Applicants
As a hub for medical care in Southeast New Mexico, residents will discover a small town Family Medicine experience while still obtaining the specialty training required for wherever your medical training may take you. The opportunity to have 6 months of self-guided electives allows you the flexibility to personalize your medical journey. Through your training at Nor-Lea you will split time between your continuity clinic and educational experience including one-on-one specialty rotations, lectures, and simulation center training.

Our program participates in the Main Residency Match and Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program (SOAP) through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).

What is the interview format for Nor-Lea Family Medicine Residency?
All interviews are held virtually through Thalamus. You will need to have an active Thalamus account to access the interview platform.
Are you all accepting applicants needing J-1 Visas?
No. Currently, we are not accepting applicants that require a visa.
Is there any sort of pre-screening Nor-Lea Family Medicine Residency Program requires before application?
No. We do not presecreen applicants/applications prior to submission of an ERAS application.

Eligibility Requirements
All applicants for a first-year residency training position must be registered with the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) to participate in The Match.
All applicants must pass the USMLE or COMLEX (we have no minimum score requirement or restrictions on attempts).
All applicants must have graduated from medical school within the past three (3) years.
All incoming residents will be expected to provide evidence of the following:
Part I and Part II Drug test
Immunization verification
PPD verification
Background check
Fingerprinting
